Clinical Services

Expanding Support. Strengthening Hope.

Healing Is a Journey. You Don't Have to Walk It Alone.

Through compassionate counseling, we help survivors discover the tools, strength, and confidence to navigate the path ahead.

At Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center, we understand that the effects of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking can extend far beyond the immediate experience. Trauma can affect emotional well-being, relationships, personal safety, self-confidence, and everyday life.
We also recognize that every person’s experience is unique, and there is no single path toward healing.
As part of our ongoing commitment to the individuals we serve, Fair Haven is proud to expand our continuum of care through Clinical Services, offering professional mental health counseling in a compassionate, supportive environment.
Our goal is simple: to provide survivors with additional opportunities to heal, strengthen resilience, and move forward with renewed hope.

A Personal Approach to Healing

Healing begins with being heard, understood, and respected.
Our Clinical Services program is grounded in trauma-informed, person-centered care. We believe meaningful counseling begins with building trust, recognizing individual strengths, and creating a supportive relationship where each person feels empowered to participate in their own healing journey.
Working collaboratively with a mental health professional, individuals can explore their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, strengthen emotional well-being, and identify goals that reflect their personal needs and hopes for the future.
Your journey is your own. Our commitment is to walk alongside you.

How We Can Help

Our Clinical Services program provides short-term, individual mental health counseling for adults impacted by sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking.
Counseling may help individuals experiencing:
· Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
· Trauma-related stress and difficult memories
· Challenges with trust, safety, and relationships
· Feelings of shame, guilt, or low self-worth
· Difficulties managing emotions and everyday stress
· Challenges rebuilding confidence and personal stability
Our mental health professionals draw upon evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including person-centered counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness and somatic (body-based) techniques.
We recognize that healing is not about following a prescribed path. It is about discovering what greater well-being, confidence, and personal growth can mean for each individual.

What to Expect

Fair Haven offers individual counseling in a welcoming and supportive environment, with appointments available both in person and through telehealth.
Counseling is generally structured as a short-term program of approximately 12 weeks, with services tailored to individual needs and clinical recommendations.
Clinical Services are provided at no cost to eligible individuals currently receiving Fair Haven services.
Participation is entirely voluntary. Services are offered based on individual needs, clinical appropriateness, and program availability.

Getting Started

If you are currently receiving other Fair Haven services and would like to explore counseling, simply speak with your advocate or another Fair Haven staff member.
Our Clinical Services team will help you understand the referral and intake process, discuss your needs, and determine whether our counseling program is an appropriate fit.
If additional or specialized services would meet your needs, our team can assist in identifying other available resources.
A referral does not guarantee enrollment, but we are committed to helping individuals explore appropriate options for support.

An Extension of Our Commitment

For more than 20 years, Fair Haven has walked alongside survivors, providing compassionate advocacy, crisis intervention, education, and support.
The addition of Clinical Services represents another meaningful step in that commitment, allowing us to address emotional and psychological needs within the familiar, supportive environment of Fair Haven.
We believe every individual deserves to be heard, treated with dignity, and supported in pursuing a life of greater hope and well-being.
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains unchanged: to be a light in the darkness, a source of hope and healing, and a safe port in the storm for every survivor we serve.
