Kelly Vates
Founder & Executive Director
Kelly is a Survivor, Thriver & Overcomer of sexual violence and exploitation. A recovery veteran, visionary, published author and national presenter on sexual trauma, Kelly was named the 2022 Community Leader of the Year by the Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association. In 2024, she received the esteemed State of Indiana Salute to Women Torchbearer Award.
Kelly has a passion for people as well as dogs and is a Certified TDI Handler for Aspen, Fair Haven’s Certified Therapy Dog. She has a strong background in both management, entrepreneurship and serves her Heavenly Father with her whole heart.

Rebecca Alvarez
Operations Director
Becky started with Fair Haven in March of 2019.
She earned her Bachelor of Human Resources degree from Purdue and her MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.
Becky loves working with people and problem solving. Outside of work, she enjoys all things outdoors, watching her kids play sports, and dancing in the kitchen.

Shana Robertson
Community Relations Director
Shana joined Fair Haven RCC’s mission in 2014. “I think that forming partnerships with like-minded people and challenging belief systems through education, will help towards eradicating sexual violence in the community.” Shana has a Bachelor of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences from Purdue Northwest and has received an Outstanding Service Award by the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault for her prevention work at Fair Haven RCC.
Shana loves her family and friends, serving the Lord, helping the community and spreads whimsical fun whenever she can.

Becca Hatfield
Client Services Director
Becca began as a Volunteer Advocate in 2015 & hired as an Advocate in August 2016. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from Purdue Northwest in 2016. Becca moved into a leadership position in 2017, overseeing Direct Services, then moving into Anti-Trafficking services in 2021. In January 2023, Becca was again promoted to a Director position. She works hard each day to provide & model excellent client care. She enjoys long drives with loud music, playing with her pups, and a cheesy pepperoni pizza.

Melissa Alcantar
Anti-trafficking Coordinator
Melissa joined the Fair Haven family in February of 2024 as an advocate for our youth services department. She is currently in school to pursue her degree in criminal justice. Melissa has a passion for helping people and strives to make a difference in the lives of the survivors she comes in contact with.
In her free time Melissa enjoys hanging out with her family, animals, and friends. She loves staying up way too late reading on her kindle and watching true crime documentaries.

Maya Rosales
Youth Services Coordinator
Maya has been a part of Fair Haven since June 2021. She has earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Indiana University Northwest. Maya loves art and has a passion for youth services.
In her spare time, she loves to cuddle with her cat named Chicken Alfredo and her English bulldog named Freddie. She is currently looking to pursue her Master’s in Social Work.

Melissa Perkins
Grants & Finance Manager
Melissa started with Fair Haven in June of 2015. She earned her Associate in Business Management degree from South Suburban College. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys crafting, camping & hiking with her family.

Tamika Muhammad
Crisis Response Coordinator
Tamika started with the Fair Haven team in November of 2021 and promoted to the Anti-Traffkicking Coordinator position in January of 2023. Tamika earned her Associates Degree in Human Services and Social Work from Ivy Tech and is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Psychology at Indiana University. Tamika enjoys helping others and spending time with her family.

Yolanda Ayala
Family Services Coordinator
Yolanda joined the Fair Haven team as a Bilingual Victim Advocate in September of 2021 and was promoted to Family Services Coordinator in November of 2022. Yolanda earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Psychology and Minor in International Studies from Purdue Northwest. She is fluent in Spanish. Yolanda loves to help others. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her kids, family, and friends.

Jennifer Potter
Prevention & Education Coordinator
Jennifer started in October 2023 as the Prevention & Education Coordinator after a long career in higher education where she worked for various offices including Title IX, Institutional Equity, Diversity, Affirmative Action, and the Campus Chancellor’s Office for nearly 20 years. Jennifer’s background includes master’s degrees in public administration and business administration as well as a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management. She has been an administrative assistant, a substitute teacher, a girl scout leader, a diversity champion and advocate, and Title IX/Affirmative Action investigator in training.
Jennifer has three grown children who are on the autism spectrum. Due to a personal experience as a child, she believes the best way to protect our children is to provide them with prevention education tools.
